Website Builders and Multilingual
Websites - Reaching Global
Audiences

In a global economy, reaching customers across languages is key to increasing
brand awareness, customer loyalty, and sales. However, it can be challenging to
translate content and create a website that appeals to users worldwide.

Luckily, the website builder platforms have evolved to provide the tools needed for global
websites to be successful. A multilingual website is a site that allows visitors to
select their preferred language from a list of options. This feature is becoming
increasingly important as more and more companies do business worldwide, and as
search engine algorithms evolve to recognize that many different languages are
used online.

A website that is multilingual can benefit any company, whether it is a local,
regional, national, or international business. The advantages of a multilingual
website are numerous and can include increased traffic, improved SEO, and the
ability to reach new markets. It is important to note that there are best practices
that should be followed when creating a multilingual website, such as including
country codes in the domain name and providing alternate versions of pages with
translated content.

There are several website builders that support the ability to create a multilingual
site. Sites like WordPress and Wix are popular choices, as they allow you to easily
set up a multilingual site with the click of a button. To create a multilingual site,
simply navigate to the 'Multilingual Site' option in your editor, and follow the on-
screen instructions. To start, choose your primary language and the flag you want to
display with it. Then, translate the content on your site (text and photos) into your
chosen language. It is helpful to have a native speaker of the language review your
content before it goes live to ensure accuracy.

It is also important to make your multilingual website easy to use for your visitors. A
simple way to do this is to add a small globe icon in the top right corner of your
website that opens a drop-down box where the visitor can select their preferred
language. This is a common feature on many of the most well-known websites, such
as Coca-Cola and Dell Technologies.
